Eliminate eyelid fat and get a rejuvenated look.

The appearance of wrinkles, puffy bags and excess skin under the eyes can be corrected with a quick and simple surgical procedure such as blepharoplasty in Madrid Spain. As a result, you will have a harmonious and natural look, as well as long-lasting.

The aesthetics of our eyes is fundamental to define our appearance. With the passage of time, the skin can lose its properties and give us an aged and flaccid appearance that even affects our vision.

At Sculpture Clinic we are specialists in all types of facial surgery, always surrounded by the best team of professionals. We will perform a personalized study of your eyes to see if blepharoplasty suits your needs and expectations.

What is a blepharoplasty?

The eyes are a fundamental part of our appeal. With our eyes, we can express all kinds of emotions and feelings. However, it is normal that with the passage of time signs of ageing appear that, in some way, worsen the appearance of our eyes.

The most common signs of aging in the eyes are excess skin around the eyelids and a sagging appearance of the skin. In addition, bags of fat located in the lower part of the eyelid are very common.

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that can effectively treat all these factors. Through small scars made in the upper and/or lower eyelid, we can remove excess skin and puffy bags.

Blepharoplasty usually requires local anesthesia and the surgery lasts between 1 and 2 hours. As it is a non-invasive surgery, it can be performed on an outpatient basis, without requiring a hospital stay.

With this blepharoplasty procedure in Madrid Spain we are not only solving aesthetic problems, but also improving vision, which is sometimes lost when there is excess skin around the eyelids.

How is the procedure?

With a blepharoplasty we have the possibility to intervene on the four eyelids. Sometimes, the patient only needs to remove puffy bags under the eyes or lift the eyelids that have a droopy appearance.

Depending on the needs of our patient, we will apply one technique or another. In the case of working on the upper eyelid, we make an incision that is hidden in thefold of the upper eyelid.

If we perform surgery on the lower eyelid, this incision is made under the eyelashes. Once this incision is made, we can remove both excess skin and fatty tissues. Another technique that is also widely used is the transconjunctival technique, in which we make the opening in the inner part of the tissue.

One of the advantages of blepharoplasty is that it can be combined with other skin rejuvenation techniques. A facelift is a good way to eliminate wrinkles around the eyes or sagging eyebrows.

Who is a good candidate for a blepharoplasty in Madrid Spain?

Blepharoplasty is recommended for older people who are noticing signs of ageing in their skin, especially around the eyes. Although there is no age limit to undergo this intervention, the most common are people over 35 years.

When we go to the clinic to have a blepharoplasty, we must be clear about our desires and expectations about the procedure. Through a medical study, we will observe how your eyes are, and we will know your well-being to undergo this surgery.

You are candidates for blepharoplasty if you have the following symptoms in our eyes:

  • Drooping upper eyelids or bags.
  • Excess skin in the upper eyelids that worsen our vision.
  • Excess skin in the lower eyelids.
  • Puffy bags under the eyes.

The results of blepharoplasty are immediate and generally very satisfactory. We manage to rejuvenate the appearance of your eyes, improving your confidence and self-esteem.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The first thing we must do before the operation is to study the patient's medical history. In this way we will find out if the patient has suffered from any type of disease such as glaucoma or circulatory problems.

A few weeks before the surgery, you should avoid taking medications that interfere with proper blood clotting. This is done to avoid excessive bleeding that could jeopardize the success of the operation.

In the same way, we do not recommend consuming alcohol or tobacco in the weeks before the operation. This dries out the skin and worsens the proper blood circulation, which can affect the results of the surgery.

The surgery, not being particularly invasive, can be performed under local anaesthesia and on an outpatient basis. This allows you to leave the clinic the same day on our own. However, you will not be able to perform activities such as driving, so we recommend being accompanied by another person.

Recovery from blepharoplasty is quite simple. Simply small discomfort, such as swelling and the appearance of bruises in the affected area. These symptoms will subside about a week after the operation.

Other common symptoms following this type of surgery are excessive tearing and increased sensitivity to light. To alleviate pain and improve these symptoms, we recommend placing cold compresses around the eyes, for at least the first few days after surgery.

During the first month, relative rest is recommended. This means that you can return to your normal life and perform most of our daily tasks, but you should avoid too much high intensity exercise.

It is also not recommended to rub our eyes excessively or use contact lenses during the first 2 weeks. A good idea is to wear sunglasses to protect our eyes from sun exposure.

At Sculpture Clinic we carry out an exhaustive follow-up of your operation to recommend the necessary measures in your postoperative period. Following the scheduled reviews we will see that everything went well and that the results are as desired.
