Would you like to stop having...?
- An asymmetrical, swollen or sagging chest that resists diet and exercise.
- Small lumps or "hard balls" under the nipple.
- Stretched areolas.
- Sensitivity in the area.
Achieve a more attractive chest and feel more comfortable.
Gynecomastia surgery is a very common procedure that removes excess fat and breast tissue from the chest to reduce its volume.
Results are very satisfactory, with an almost imperceptible scar after about 6 months.
- Flattens the breasts.
- Provides skin firmness.
- Harmonizes the torso.
- Corrects previous failed procedures.
- Increases physical and psychological well-being.
It is minimally invasive and the postoperative period is quite manageable, but it requires an accurate diagnosis to choose the most effective technique.
This surgery typically uses sedation and local anesthesia, which carry fewer risks than general anesthesia. You will remain conscious, experiencing a pleasant and enjoyable sensation.
Generally not. It is quick and rewarding. During the first 3-5 days you may notice swelling and some discomfort, but these respond well to painkillers and anti-inflammatory medication.
In any surgery, it’s possible that the result may not be satisfactory. With a complete diagnostic study you minimize this possibility and know in advance what you can achieve.
That depends on you. By themselves they do not increase again after the procedure, but if you gain weight, fat could accumulate in the area and your chest could enlarge. It’s important to maintain your physical fitness.

Any other questions about gynecomastia surgery?
How is it performed?
At Sculpture Clinic we use 3 techniques to achieve optimal results:
- Mastectomy. A 2-3 centimeter incision is made around the areola to remove excess breast glandular tissue.
- Liposuction using a cannula connected to a vacuum pump to remove excess fat.
- Liposculpture assisted by BodyTite radiofrequency technology to achieve skin contraction and prevent sagging. This is especially important from age 30-35 onwards, when we typically have greater excess skin.
They are combined depending on the type of gynecomastia you have. That’s why it’s essential for the doctor to perform a detailed diagnostic assessment during your free initial consultation.
Can I have surgery if I have pseudo-gynecomastia?
Keep in mind that gynecomastia (enlargement of breast and fatty tissue) is not the same as pseudo-gynecomastia (fat accumulation).
If your issue is the latter, surgery will only be recommended if you haven’t resolved it within 1 year through diet and exercise.
Does the procedure hurt?
Not at all, as it’s performed under local anesthesia and sedation. You won’t feel a thing. Rather, you’ll have a pleasant and calm sensation throughout the entire process.
There are specific cases where general anesthesia is required, but it depends greatly on your diagnosis.
How long does it take?
It’s not very long. In 1-2 hours we’ll be done.
Does it require hospitalization?
It depends. Most commonly, yes, we do require it to ensure everything goes perfectly and to properly monitor the effects of analgesia in the first postoperative hours.
When treating pseudo-gynecomastia, hospitalization is less common.
When will I see the final results?
They typically appear at 3 months, once all the swelling has subsided, although this can vary depending on the patient.
Where will my scar be located?
At the lower border of the areola. With proper care (avoiding sun exposure, creams, etc.) it will be barely visible at 6 months.
What is the postoperative period like?
It’s quite manageable. The doctor will give you all the necessary instructions for everything to go smoothly.
In the first 24 hours you’ll need to rest, but already at 3-5 days you can return to your normal life. If you do work that requires greater effort, such as lifting weights or holding your arms in strained positions, you may need to delay your return.
During this 3-5 day period you’ll notice certain discomfort (like muscle soreness) and swelling. We’ll prescribe painkillers and anti-inflammatory medications so your recovery is quick and comfortable.
Throughout the first month you should wear a compression garment to help your skin retract and return to its proper position.
Of course, the doctor will closely monitor your progress through several visits to the clinic. At 1 and 2 weeks, at 1, 3 and 6 months and 1 year after surgery. There’s no problem if you live outside Madrid and find it difficult to come to the appointment. We can conduct evaluations via video call.
You can also contact the doctor by phone or WhatsApp whenever you need.
When can I do sports?
You’ll gradually recover little by little your normal activity over the following 3 months. In the first weeks you should avoid exercises involving the pectoral muscle.
Will I be able to sleep on my side or stomach?
During the first two weeks, it is important that you sleep on your back to avoid pressure on your newly operated breasts. This could affect your recovery.
Will I be able to have sexual relations during recovery?
It is advisable to wait at least a couple of weeks before resuming sexual activity. After that, you can do so, but be careful not to place pressure on your chest.
What does the free initial consultation include?
During this telemedicine consultation, the doctor will listen to your concerns and analyze your needs. He will perform a physical examination of your chest and thorax. He will then be honest with you about the results you can expect from gynecomastia surgery.
He will explain the preoperative requirements, the surgical risks, and what you need to do to avoid them. Additionally, he will show you before and after photos of other patients with anatomy similar to yours so you can realistically see what you can achieve.
To rule out any contraindications to the procedure, he will also review your medical history (medical conditions, medications, allergies, etc.) and request blood work and a COVID test.
Finally, he will provide you with a personalized quote. If you need financing, the clinic will discuss the available options with you.
What is the price of gynecomastia surgery?
It varies depending on your specific needs, so it is not possible to establish an exact price. To give you an idea, the cost starts from €2,800.
