Dr. María Campoy

Improve what concerns you without ceasing to be yourself

I am Dr. María Campoy, a specialist in Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery and a member of the Sculpture Clinic team.

My practice focuses on body contouring surgery, with particular dedication to lipedema surgery. I also perform breast and facial surgery.

I understand my profession through closeness and honesty. I want you to be able to tell me what concerns you, understand what we can achieve, and feel confident asking anything you need.

I found in surgery a way to bring precision and creativity together.

From my first years in Medicine, I knew I wanted to devote myself to a surgical specialty. I was drawn to hands-on work and the possibility of seeing how an intervention could produce a tangible change.

Plastic surgery allowed me to combine that vocation with my creative side and my restless, self-demanding nature. Each case invites me to study, assess options, and seek an answer tailored to the person in front of me.

That curiosity has led me to complete my training in different hospitals, in Spain and abroad, and it continues to accompany me in my day-to-day work.

I graduated in Medicine from the University of Zaragoza and became a specialist via the MIR in Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery at Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre in Madrid, where I completed my residency between 2020 and 2025.

During my university years, I completed training placements in Madrid and at the Università degli Studi di Pavia, in Italy.

My specialist training included rotations in the Major Burns Unit at Hospital La Paz, in paediatric plastic surgery at Hospital Niño Jesús, and in hand and microsurgery at Hospital FREMAP in Majadahonda.

I also completed placements at Hospital Roberto del Río, in Santiago, Chile, and at the Supermicrosurgery Unit at Asan Medical Center, in Seoul.

I am a member of SECPRE and my medical registration number is 282881140.

I have collaborated in teaching at the Complutense University of Madrid and I am a teaching collaborator at CEU San Pablo University.

I maintain my training through practical courses and specialty congresses. I have also participated in scientific papers and presentations on breast reconstruction, reconstructive surgery, ear deformities, and body contouring.

  • Body contouring surgery and lipedema: an area to which I devote special attention within Sculpture Clinic.
  • Breast surgery: breast augmentation, mastopexy, breast reduction, and gynecomastia.
  • Facial surgery: blepharoplasty, cervicofacial lift, and otoplasty.

Trust begins with speaking honestly.

A fundamental part of my work is to explain clearly what I can offer you and what the limits of an intervention are.

If I consider that a surgery should not be performed for safety reasons, or that the result I can achieve does not match what you are looking for, I will tell you.

I want you to make your decision with information and realistic expectations.

Support continues after surgery.

I work in coordination with the Sculpture Clinic nursing team, both in the operating theatre and during the postoperative period.

I am responsible for resolving medical questions before and after the procedure. The nursing team performs the dressings and informs me of your progress and any incidents, so that we can follow your recovery in a coordinated way.

Three things that define me

Approachability

I am the same María inside and outside the consultation room. I like you to be able to speak with me with confidence.

Naturalness

I seek to understand what you want to improve and what is important to preserve so that you continue to recognise yourself.

Honesty

I believe in explaining what I can offer you with the same frankness with which I would like to receive a recommendation.

Shall we meet?

If you are considering a procedure, we can start by talking about what concerns you and the questions you have. In consultation, we will study your case and assess which options may be suitable for you.
